Women entrepreneurs benefit from business verification workshop organized by TCCIA.

Business women in the country have explained that they have benefited greatly from the business verification workshop organized by the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), in cooperation with various stakeholders. The workshop has been held today at Four Points by Sheraton hotel, in Dar es Salaam.

“Through this workshop I have gained basic knowledge of international standards requirements and how to prepare for the off market. This is a rare opportunity for us business women,” said Mrs. Janeth Mbogoma, one of the beneficiaries of the workshop who is engaged in cosmetics business.

The workshop has brought together stakeholders from Tanzania Standards Organization (TBS), Tanzania Business Development Authority (TANTRADE), TISEZA, European Union Delegation (EU Delegation), SNV Tanzania and members of TCCIA, with the aim of empowering women in businesses to sell abroad and to ensure that their products meet. international standards.

Opening the workshop, the CEO of TCCIA, Oscar Kissanga, said: “We support efforts to close the gender gap in businesses selling abroad and build a more inclusive economy for Tanzania. ”

On his part, the representative of the European Union in Tanzania, Mr. Sagoh Djete, stressed the importance of collaborating with local institutions in promoting inclusive business: “The European Union believes that empowering women in business is not only a fair issue but also an important catalyst for economic development. We are proud to partner with TCCIA and other stakeholders in ensuring women have access to the knowledge and resources necessary to access international markets. ”

This workshop is part of the efforts of TCCIA and its stakeholders to ensure that women’s participation is nurtured in the business sector, especially in international markets.
