The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (TCCIA) has taken a significant step in enhancing economic and trade relations between Tanzania and Brazil through the recently concluded Business and Investment Forum held at Johali Rotana Hotel, Dar es Salaam. The forum brought together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, including government officials, business leaders, and entrepreneurs. Among the distinguished attendees were the Minister of Industry and Trade, Hon. Dr. Seleman Jafo, and the Brazilian Ambassador to Tanzania, H.E. Gustavo Martins Nogueira.
In his address, Minister Dr. Jafo underscored the importance of this partnership in fostering Tanzania’s economic development. “We believe that the strong ties we have built in sectors such as mining, tourism, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and others will provide vast opportunities for investment that will benefit our nation,” he stated.
On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of TCCIA, Mr. Oscar Kissanga, expressed his optimism about the growing trade and economic relations between Tanzania and Brazil. He highlighted that the relationship is ripe for further expansion. “Our economic and trade relations have matured, and we are ready to broaden our cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, technology, infrastructure, energy, mining, education, and tourism,” said Mr. Kissanga.
Mr. Kissanga emphasized the immense potential for collaboration between the two nations’ chambers of commerce. “By building a robust relationship between our chambers, we can unlock the full potential of trade, investment, and economic collaboration between our two great nations,” he added.
The forum provided a platform for Tanzanian and Brazilian businesses to explore various investment opportunities, share knowledge, and strengthen ties. This event marked a significant milestone in the economic partnership between Tanzania and Brazil, laying the foundation for future collaborations that are expected to boost economic growth in both countries.
The discussions during the forum also touched upon the potential for Brazil to provide technical expertise and technological advancements in sectors where Tanzania seeks to modernize, such as agriculture and energy. The two nations have long-standing diplomatic and trade ties, and this forum served as a critical juncture to deepen those ties while identifying new opportunities for mutual growth.
Moreover, the forum highlighted the opportunities for joint ventures, particularly in sectors like renewable energy and infrastructure, which are priority areas for both countries. Brazil, with its advanced technology in bioenergy and infrastructure development, can play a pivotal role in supporting Tanzania’s industrialization goals.
By strengthening the relationship between Tanzania and Brazil, TCCIA hopes to create a sustainable framework that will not only increase bilateral trade but also encourage knowledge transfer, innovation, and economic empowerment for businesses in both nations. As the forum concluded, both parties expressed their commitment to continue working closely to explore and capitalize on new avenues of cooperation.
This Business and Investment Forum is expected to serve as a springboard for future collaboration, setting the stage for enhanced economic engagement that will benefit both countries in the long term.
