The Chief Executive Officer of the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (TCCIA), Mr. Oscar Kissanga, recently held a crucial meeting with Ms. Cathy Wang, Director of the East Africa Commerce and Logistics Center (EACLC). Ms. Wang was accompanied by a delegation of scholars and experts in agriculture, research, and technology from Shandong Agricultural University, China. The delegation was led by Chairman Mr. Wang Xian Chang and Professor Zhang Gang.
The discussions centered around strengthening the collaboration between TCCIA and Shandong Agricultural University, particularly in the areas of agricultural research and technology. These efforts are aimed at improving the productivity and quality of agricultural seeds, a critical factor in Tanzania’s agricultural development. Mr. Kissanga emphasized TCCIA’s recognition of the vital role that research plays in driving agricultural transformation in the country. He expressed confidence that TCCIA members, especially those involved in agricultural production, would greatly benefit from this partnership.
“Research and technology are essential tools for our farmers to increase productivity and achieve international quality standards,” said Mr. Kissanga. He further noted that TCCIA is committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure that Tanzania’s agricultural sector achieves significant progress through international cooperation.
