The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (TCCIA) recently hosted a high-level meeting with the China Africa Economic and Trade Working Committee. The delegation, led by Mr. Guoquan Feng, Assistant Director of the Committee, convened at TCCIA’s headquarters with a primary focus on strengthening bilateral trade relations and enhancing economic equity between Tanzania and China.
During the discussions, key investment opportunities from China were explored in four critical sectors: Renewable Energy, Automotive and Systems Manufacturing, Mining, and Retail Centers. Kelvin Ogodo, TCCIA’s Membership Manager, emphasized the significance of this partnership for Tanzania’s economic advancement. “This collaboration is vital for the growth of the industrial and renewable energy sectors. We believe that Chinese investments will enhance the business environment and yield benefits for both parties,” stated Mr. Ogodo.
Mr. Feng elaborated on his committee’s commitment to addressing obstacles hindering trade between the two nations. He reaffirmed China’s steadfast intention to enhance business cooperation with Tanzania, aligning with the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. He also commended TCCIA’s efforts in fortifying this relationship. “We have observed significant progress in the China-Tanzania partnership, yet there remains room for improvement. Our committee is dedicated to effectively addressing trade challenges and ensuring our collaboration continues to strengthen,” remarked Mr. Feng.
This meeting marks a continued effort to bolster commercial ties between Tanzania and China. TCCIA remains committed to leveraging these opportunities to benefit the industrial, energy, and mining sectors in Tanzania, ensuring that its members and the broader business community reap the rewards of this growing international partnership.
