Dar es Salaam, October 22, 2024 – The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (TCCIA), in collaboration with Trias East Africa, visited the offices of Sauti ya Wanawake wenye Ulemavu Tanzania (Voice of Women with Disabilities in Tanzania) in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, as part of the HUSISHA project. This visit aimed to identify challenges faced by the organization’s members and explore solutions to enhance their business ventures and overall community well-being.
The HUSISHA project, implemented by Trias through TCCIA, is dedicated to fostering inclusivity by empowering underrepresented groups, including women with disabilities, in Tanzania’s private sector. By supporting these individuals in starting and growing their businesses, the initiative aims to create equitable economic opportunities across the country.
During the visit, Ms. Lillian Makoy, Manager of Trias Tanzania, emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing challenges. She noted, “We are delighted to be here and listen to your experiences. With the support of TCCIA and other stakeholders, we are confident that we can contribute to meaningful solutions to these challenges.”
Echoing this sentiment, Ms. Stella Jailos, Director of Sauti ya Wanawake wenye Ulemavu Tanzania, highlighted the transformative potential of the partnership. “We are grateful for this visit and the ongoing collaboration. Through the HUSISHA project, we hope to access the resources and knowledge necessary to advance our business activities,” she stated.
