TCCIA and ECCSA sign a document of cooperation agreement in Dar es Salaam city.

Dar es Salaam, 3 April 2025 – (TCCIA) and the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoU) with the aim of exchanging skills, strengthening business relations, and promoting business and investment opportunities between Tanzania and Ethiopia.

This agreement has been reached at the TCCIA offices in Dar es Salaam, where the ECCSA delegation, led by its President Mr. Sebsib Abafira Abajobere and senior board leaders, held talks with their host, the President of TCCIA, Mr. Vicent Minja. These talks focused on strengthening the trade cooperation between Tanzania and Ethiopia for the benefit of the private sector and the economy of both nations.

Speaking to TCCIA Business TV, Mr. Minja explained that the arrival of the ECCSA mission is an important step for the development of the private sector in the country. He also stressed that these efforts go hand in hand with the government’s strategy to promote economic diplomacy. “TCCIA will continue to be an important link between local and international traders by ensuring business opportunities and agreements reached bring productivity to our members,” said Mr. Minja.

On his part, Mr Sebsib Abafira Abajobere expressed his pleasure with the invitation by TCCIA, noting that the visit provided a valuable opportunity to learn how the private sector is collaborating with government authorities to strengthen the business environment.

The ECCSA delegation will also get the opportunity to visit various government institutions such as TanTrade and Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) to see for themselves how they work with the private sector to ensure international competitiveness. Either, this tour includes high level meetings with institutions like the Ethiopian Embassy in Tanzania, Tanzania Port Authority (TPA), and Tanzania Chamber of Mines.
