Dar es Salaam, December 6, 2024 – The Deputy Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania and Minister of Energy, Hon. Dr. Doto Mashaka Biteko (MP), has lauded the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (TCCIA) for its pivotal role in fostering business development in Tanzania. Dr. Biteko made these remarks today while officiating the 2024 Public-Private Sector Business and Investment Dialogue Forum, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam.

Themed “Enhancing Negotiation Efficiency and Export Competitiveness for Private Sector Growth,” the forum was organized by TCCIA in collaboration with TradeMark Africa, Kamaka Company, and other key stakeholders. Speaking during his keynote address, Dr. Biteko underscored the government’s commitment to working closely with the private sector, stating:
“I would like to congratulate TCCIA for organizing the 49th Annual General Meeting and for its unwavering efforts in advancing the private sector, particularly in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, industries, and trade. The Sixth Phase Government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan is fully committed to fostering collaboration with the private sector to propel Tanzania’s economic development forward.”

Dr. Biteko emphasized the importance of a conducive business environment, highlighting the government’s dedication to addressing challenges faced by businesses, including infrastructure development and trade facilitation.

TCCIA President, Mr. Vicent Minja, commended the government for prioritizing the private sector as the engine of economic growth.
“Our President has positioned the private sector as the driver of economic progress by implementing policies that enhance the business environment and remove barriers to growth. On behalf of TCCIA and the wider business community, we pledge our continued cooperation with the government to achieve this shared vision,” said Mr. Minja.
